"The Royal Commission of Inquiry into the VK Lingam video clip has recommended that former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad be investigated under various laws for his role in the appointment of judges.
Other luminaries to face investigation are former chief justices Ahmad Fairuz Sheikh Abdul Halim and Eusoff Chin, senior lawyer VK Lingam, former minister Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor and business tycoon Vincent Tan.

I was very suprised that the findings were even made public, in fact the whole report is available for purchase, quoting from the same article: The four-volume report will be sold at RM542.10 and be available next week from the government printers. This is very uncharacteristic of the government, since when did they ever release any reports or findings as scandalous as this to the public. In fact in the past, this kind of stuff used to be merely for public relations purposes. But instead this time, they disclosed everything, the 'truth' about the whole mess and promised even more, that actions will actually be taken to clean it up.
Is this a sign that the current government has acquired traits of fairness and just governance overnight and is ready to change for the good of the rakyat? or is it just a lame @$$ excuse to finally get back at Dr M and put an end to his bad mouthing of the PM and co. I have a feeling that perhaps it is the case of the latter. Well we'll just have to wait and see what happens in days to come, because as it stands, the Attorney General (AG) has been entrusted with pursuing the matter further. The question is, will the AG and gang actually go all out and press charges or will they do the usual thing when such VIPs are involved, drop the case due to lack of concrete evidence, or come up with some other equally lame excuse. It will be interesting to see though how Dr M and his gang of merry men will react to this.
I for one am disappointed that this may spell the end for VK Lingam, a towering Malaysian Indian who has risen up through the ranks and gained much prominence in the legal profession. He serves as an inspiration to me and my fellow Indians in the country, to uplift the status of our community in the good spirit of racialism that we are all accustomed to. As someone once pointed out (can't remember who), he has shown us that Indians can do it too while working within the 'system' and don't necessarily need the MIC to lift us up. He is in fact said to be one of the best lawyers in the country, so good he was that he could defend his clients and play a role in decision making for the judges and the PM, all at the same time, which of course gave rise to the controversy in the first place unfortunately.
Speaking of Indian fellas, the Chairperson of the 'notorious' (according to the government) Hindraf is said to be de facto stateless at moment. The government has rather quietly (*sneaky sneaky*) revoked his passport with hopes that he will get deported back to the country from the UK and join his fellow 'terrorists' (according to the government again) in Kamunting. The persistence and commitment of the government to this issue must be applauded in my opinion, as it is characteristically rare. If only they were as concerned over other issues on the home front that needed more urgent attention.
As some may recall, this fella got away weeks before the crackdown on the others, flying off to India and then to the UK to gain international support for the movement (whatever that means I'm not sure, 'cause I've yet to see anything except for that once, where some random 5-6 Indian fellas in Canada/US staged a pathetic attempt at a demonstration/protest). He was told of the revocation upon returning to the UK from Geneva by the immigration people in Gatwick but for some reason did not get deported back as expected. Instead he is in the midst of applying for political asylum, which if accepted is not going to make the (Malaysian) idiots in power look good at all, and instead look terribly stupid since their plan failed miserably. Malaysian immigration officials are claiming that they "were unaware of the passport cancellation and said Waythamoorthy should return home to check the status of his travel document". My response to that is: HAHAHAHAHA...yea right!
